The Eagle Winds is the newest addition to the Broomfield High School band family. With its introduction in the 2008-2009 school year, the Eagle Winds is comprised of the top chair players in the Concert band. This ensemble provides an opportunity for a more challenging music experience in a focused setting. The Eagle Winds rehearses during the Concert season presenting featured selections at the BHS Band concerts. They are also known as the "Symphony Winds" as they combine to perform with the "Upperclass Orchestra" to complete the BHS Symphonic Orchestra.
They performed in the "March" concert, John Philip Sousa's "Liberty Bell March" which is also more commonly known as the "Monty Python Flying circus" theme music, but are laying low this year due to the musical, "South Pacific" where many of them are in the Pit Orchestra AND the Orchestra Fund-Raiser which features the Full Symphony Orchestra performing "Rhapsody in Blue" for a paying audience. That concert also features two GREAT musicians: Mike Marshall, a world renowned mandolin/banjo performer and Edgar Meyer who is the #1 Bass player in the world. That concert will be AMAZING!
